The team here at Test Innovators knows a thing or two about the anxiety surrounding testing. There are many different methods to relieving testing anxiety but we chose our top four favorites.

#1- Learn how to study efficiently

By efficiently preparing for the test ahead of time you can help relieve stress related to taking the test because you’ll feel more prepared overall. You will also feel more comfortable with how the test is taken as well as the material on the test.

Learning how to study efficiently is something that we here at Test Innovators can help you with. Our test prep is designed with each student in mind. Our program identifies where you can improve and gives you the tools to practice.

Test Innovators also offers tutoring. We are highly selective, and only work with the best tutors who work with hundreds of students each year on these tests. Our tutors review results and data from the Test Innovators platform to determine exactly what each student needs. Our tutors get to know you, and will come up with a personalized pan based on your needs and ongoing performance evaluations.

#2- Get some exercise

Exercise is a great way to relieve testing anxiety. When you exercise, endorphins are released which help improve your mood. Exercise can also help relieve tension and also provide a great study break. By improving your mood through releasing endorphins you can replace negative, anxious feelings with positive, productive thoughts.

#3- Get plenty of sleep

You should be aiming to for 8.5 to 9.5 hours of sleep every night, not just the night before the test. In order for your brain to function at 100% you’ll need to give it adequate time to rest and repair itself overnight. Today more and more people aren’t getting enough sleep and it’s a simple fix. Put down your smart phone or tablet and step away from the TV. Your brain needs a break and the best way to give it one is by getting a good night’s sleep.

#4- Don’t forget to eat and drink water

In order for your body, and more importantly, your brain, to function properly you’ll need to fuel it! Avoid sugary drinks which can cause your blood sugar to spike and then drop. Also avoid caffeinated drinks which can increase anxiety. It’s simple and anyone can do it! Make sure the day before the test you drink plenty of water and have a balanced meal before you leave. Don’t forget to bring a couple snacks to continue to fuel your body during the breaks.
