Frequently Asked Questions
How much does ACT tutoring cost?
One-on-one ACT tutoring sessions range from $140 to $225 per hour. The more hours you sign up for, the lower the rate per session.
To learn more about pricing and find the best fit for your needs, schedule a free consultation with one of our ACT prep experts. We’ll walk you through pricing, scheduling, and how everything works.
How many hours should I purchase?
It depends on your goals, timeline, and budget. Here are three popular ACT tutoring packages:
- 5 hours – A great way to get started with tutoring or do a quick review before the test. Focus on test-taking strategies, or target one specific area that needs reinforcement.
- 20 hours – Ideal for building a strong foundation. Learn core strategies, cover the fundamentals, and go deeper in key areas. Perfect if you’re focusing on one section.
- 50 hours – A comprehensive plan for students aiming to maximize their scores. Build your skills, strengthen both sections, and prepare in-depth over a longer timeline.
We’ll help you figure out how many hours you need during your consultation call.
Are materials included in tutoring packages?
All tutoring packages of 20 hours or more include our ACT + SAT package (a $379 value). If you’ve already purchased the materials separately, just reach out to our support team and we’ll sort it out.
You can contact us at 1-800-280-1857 or support@testinnovators.com.
How do I get started?
Schedule a 20-minute call with one of our ACT specialists. We’ll talk about your goals, timeline, and availability, then match you with a tutor who fits your needs.
If you have any questions, please also feel free to contact our support team at 1-800-280-1857 or support@testinnovators.com.
What is the tutoring consultation?
It’s a free 20-minute call to help you get started. One of our ACT specialists will ask about your goals, schedule, and any practice or official tests you’ve taken. Based on your conversation, they’ll recommend a tutor who’s a good fit for you.
A parent or guardian should join the call, since we’ll also go over logistics, pricing, and next steps. After the call, you’ll get instructions for booking sessions.
What do tutoring sessions look like?
Each session is customized to your needs, so no two are exactly the same. Your tutor will focus on the areas you need to improve, using your most recent practice test results to guide the session.
You’ll work through targeted practice, review mistakes, and learn how to tackle different types of ACT questions. Between sessions, your tutor will assign personalized homework to keep you on track.
How does my tutor know what I need help with?
Your tutor will use the results from your practice tests and assignments on the Test Innovators platform to pinpoint your strengths and weaknesses. This data shows exactly where you need the most support—whether it’s a core concept, a specific question type, or pacing and time management.
That way, every session focuses on the areas that will make the biggest difference. After each session, your tutor will add notes so you and your parent or guardian can easily track your progress.
What do I do between tutoring sessions?
Your tutor will assign practice through the Test Innovators platform. Depending on what you’re working on, homework may include targeted drills, review exercises, or full-length practice tests.
You can view your assignments anytime under your Homework tab.
How do I schedule sessions?
We use Acuity, an online scheduling tool, to manage all tutoring sessions. When you purchase a package, you’ll receive a code to redeem your hours. Once you’re matched with a tutor, you’ll get their personal scheduling link so you can book your sessions at times that work for you.
Learn more about scheduling with Acuity and creating an account.
Why should I choose Test Innovators for ACT tutoring?
We combine expert ACT tutoring with powerful practice tools to help you study smarter, not just harder. Your tutor will use detailed insights from your practice tests to pinpoint exactly what you need to work on, so every session is focused and efficient.
You’ll get personalized homework to reinforce what you’ve learned and keep you on track toward your goals. Sessions are held online, with recordings and session notes to help you monitor your progress along the way.
What if I don’t use all of my hours?
Tutoring hours never expire, and you don’t have to use them all for ACT prep. You can apply unused hours toward academic tutoring, SAT prep, AP exam support, or even share them with a sibling.
For any questions about our tutoring services, please reach out to us at 1-800-280-1857 or tutoring@testinnovators.com.
