SSAT Test Dates
The 2023-2024 SSAT testing season is here! The test dates have been released, and registration is open.
The SSAT is offered on paper and on the computer. Students taking the Middle and Upper Level SSAT can take the paper test on any of the standard dates noted below. Middle and Upper Level students can also take one additional paper test on a flex date. Additionally, Middle and Upper Level students can take up to two computer-based tests, either at home or at a Prometric testing center.
The Elementary Level SSAT is currently only offered on paper and can be taken up to three times per year, on both of the standard dates listed below and once more on a flex date.
It’s best to give yourself the opportunity to take the SSAT at least twice. That way, if the first time doesn’t go as well as you’d hoped, you’ll have another chance to take the test. When planning out your test dates, make sure to check the application and testing deadlines for the schools you are applying to, so that you get your scores in on time.

Flex Tests
Flex tests are paper exams given on a non-standard date. Students can take up to one Flex test per year.
These tests may be hosted by schools or educational consultants. You can find open Flex test dates by visiting EMA’s Test Center Search and selecting the “Flex Test w/Consultant” tab.
The Computer-Based SSAT
A computer-based option is currently available to Middle and Upper Level Students. Students may take the computer-based test up to two times, either at home or at a Prometric Center.
The SSAT at Home Dates
The SSAT at Home is currently only available for students who are physically located in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada. Registration opened August 1st and closes 24 hours before the test administration. Space is limited, so be sure to schedule your test as soon as possible. Prometric Center Testing
Computer-based tests are also available at Prometric Centers in the United States, Canada, and most other countries around the world. To find a Prometric center near you, please visit the Prometric Scheduler and select “SSAT by The Enrollment Management Association” as the test sponsor.
